October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month - a time to reflect, support, and celebrate the strength of women everywhere. At Porter Group, we’re proud to spotlight the incredible women who bring passion and purpose to what we do every day.
This week, we caught up with Kendrah Worsley, Group Marketing Manager at our Head Office, to share her story and highlight the energy she brings to our team.
Tell us a little about your role at Porter Group - what does a typical day look like for you?
As Marketing Manager across both our New Zealand and Australian operations, a typical day involves liaising with our executive team, Sales Managers, and Hire Managers to ensure our campaigns align with business goals. My focus is on understanding how my team and I can best showcase the reliability of Porter Group.
What advice would you give to other women pursuing a career in this industry?
Heavy machinery is powerful, innovative, and hugely impressive, and this industry has so much space for women to make their mark. My advice is to trust that your contribution matters - fresh ideas and different perspectives are what help this industry keep moving forward.
Who or what has been a source of support or inspiration for you in your career?
My parents have always been my greatest support. Their hard work, determination, and guidance have shaped how I approach challenges and opportunities in my career.
What helps you recharge outside of work?
Spending time with friends and family is what recharges me most. I love a slow Sunday at the markets, cooking, or trying out new places to eat. Those moments give me the energy I need for a busy week.
What does Breast Cancer Awareness Month mean to you, in your own words?
This month is about standing with those affected by breast cancer and raising awareness about the importance of early detection. Even though it hasn’t touched my immediate circle, it reminds me of how vital it is to support the cause and encourage education and regular checks.
